The Mid West Championship the tournament was set up as a way for The Catfish
Nation to show their thanks for the members in the Mid West that has supported the
catfish nation over the last 2 years. 18 members showed up to meet the Catfish
Nation president Tim hagan and 2 of the Maryland chapter officers Rob & Rose Wills.

The Mid West Championship was set up in 3 classes Men's Women"s and Youth. Each
angler would fish from 7 to 2 and bring back his or her biggest fish.

Also to show the anglers out there just how you can do other thing with tournaments
to make them fun we also had a luck of the draw tournament. In this one they would
bring in 5 fish of different weights per team. Before the tournament Tim put a few
different weights down on on cards. After everyone had weighed in their fish 4
different weights was pick at random with no one knowing what would show up. This
tournament is about the same as the target tournaments we run out here on the east
coast but no scales are needed on the boat. Its ust go out and fish have fun and see
you can get lucky when the weights are drawed. Their was no money on the line for
this one just prizes and fun for all. No team can win more then one time so it was no
longer about who can catch the most big fish. There would still be a big fish jack pot
to award the big fish winners. This one opens a tournament up to everyone thereeven a
beginner can walk away a winner as it is THE LUCK OF THE DRAW

The 1st weight to come out was 2.8 lbs and the team of Mike, Peggy Line, Mark
Samuels had a fish right at 2.8 lbs.
The 2nd weight to be picked was 6.4 lbs George, Tina, Trey Harris had a 7.0 lb fish
The 3rd weight to be pick was 8.2 lbs Kevin Parks, James Webster had a fish at 7.8
The 4th weight was 4.4 lbs Virgil Brown had a fish at 3.8 lbs
