Sunday Jan 4 2009, James River …..Sunday because it was the last weekend of
Deer season in Virginia. 9 Teams came to the City of Hopewell, for the 2009
kick off tournament for the Virginia Chapter. Everyone enjoyed seeing all their
fellow catfishing friends. And a lot of new faces were there also, as 5 new
members were signed up. Lets all welcome them. John T Loyd, Bryan Tilson,
David Piszker Jr, Jason Amos, and Jason Peters.

The 8:00 start time was a little wet, as a shower came thru, and everyone got
to feel the sting of the rain in your face, as we rushed to our spots. But after
about 15 mins, the rain stopped, and allthough it was cloudy, it was quit nice.
Very little wind, and temps in the mid 40’s. Most teams were able to find a lot
of fish. A total of 17 fish were brought to the scales, for a total weight of 570.4
Lbs, for a avg of 33.5 lbs per fish. There were 3 fish in the 50 lbs class, 2 fish in
the 40 Lbs class, and 3 fish in the 30 Lbs class.
